Engaged by Kingston City Council and designed by Mark Tyquin of Tyquin Architects the new amenities built at the Victory Park foreshore and playground area are attractive, accessible and functional.
The initial program was scheduled for 10 weeks but due to the discovery of challenging conditions during construction, it was extended to 16 weeks. The project commenced in August of 2011 and was completed by December 2011.
Prior to the beginning of the project, there was approximately a two and a half month wait, while the storm water, height and other design issues were resolved.
Ducon worked closely with the Kingston City Council, Tyquin Architects and the Structural Engineer in order to develop cost - effective solutions to the challenges which were faced. The Kingston City Council finished off the project, providing a 3D mural to one side of the external wall and with a new path and decking area.
