The Brief

The Victorian Government’s Community Use of Vacant Rail Buildings program aimed to revitalise some of Victoria’s unused station buildings and precincts by making affordable spaces available for a range of community uses.

Yarragon Station 3

In response to strong local community demand, the unused Yarragon Station was identified and included in the program. In the original state, the building was however not safe or practical for public use. This building upgrade sought to revitalise and optimise the asset for commercial use.

Our Response

The project included construction and repair works to the building’s structural frame, renewal of the interior finishes, installation of an accessible toilet, kitchenette and joinery, and new power and light throughout. This was all completed in accordance with the architectural and structural designs and specifications prepared by Quadratum Architects and Mark Hodkinson engineers.
