The project involved the construction of a new pedestrian bridge in the wildlife sanctuary at La Trobe University. The bridge needed to be constructed of steel, with timber decking boards and balustrades. The bridge was constructed in an operating wildlife sanctuary and the key focus of the construction methodology was to minimise the environmental disruption. As such, the environmental management plan was paramount to protect the indigenous flora and fauna, some of which is endangered.
