The Department of Defence bases at Bandiana and Puckapunyal recently underwent external audits to assess and make recommendations of existing building conditions and building compliance.
Works were delivered at Defence bases in Bandiana and Puckapunyal. Along with standard Defence Force security criteria and access controls, our project management team had to carefully manage on site army personnel as well as civilian contractors. This affected over
45 different locations including sheds, workshops, wash bays, cranes and hoists, driveways and pedestrian points as well as highly sensitive sections which remain classified. Works
at both locations included; structural rectifications, concrete bundling and spill tanks, fire protection installation and upgrades, steel platforms, staircases and access ladders, fire walls and separations, switchboard upgrades and emergency lighting, mechanical upgrades and installations, safety wash bays, showers and eye rinse stations.
Along with managing Department of Defence regulations and standards, the project team also had to manage; working across two (2) separate regional locations, design and construct resolutions, complete BCA code awareness and implementation, scope comprehension and delivery, working in active Defence environments and delivery of stakeholder key objectives.
All works were completed at both bases on time and to well above both the Department of
Defence’s expectations and consultants Jacobs SKM.
