The brief for this project was the construction of a new community sports pavilion on behalf of the City of Kingston. .
The Edithvale Sports Pavilion is an important new community facility for the City of Kingston. It forms part of a master plan to create an integrated sports precinct containing soccer, baseball, a cycling velodrome and little athletics.
It is an elliptical building with upper social areas accessed by a curved staircase externally and by an open staircase and a lift internally. Comprising of an oval shape and architectural cladding elements with extensive change room and function facilities.
The challenge in the construction of this building was in ensuring that the integrity of the elliptical shape was achieved. A key focus for our team was on ensuring the details were realised as planned, and were serviceable for the City of Kingston.
