To complete the refurbishment of five (5) Drivers’ Locker Rooms at Flinders Street Station, to allow for more inclusivity with the increase of female drivers across the industry.
Ducon recently completed a refurbishment at Flinders Street Station which included the transformation of five drivers’ locker rooms into modern, inclusive spaces. The new layout includes two all-gender locker rooms with private change rooms, a maternity room with modern facilities, a multipurpose meeting room/office, and private spaces for drivers.
The project began with the demolition and disposal of old lockers, followed by painting, flooring, and internal wall framing and plastering works to refresh and structurally enhance the spaces. A total of 550 new lockers were supplied and installed alongside new furniture to equip the spaces adequately. Private changing room partitions were also installed to ensure privacy. Electrical works were undertaken which included updated lighting, heating and cooling systems.
This refurbishment which was meticulously executed, has significantly improved the functionality of the locker rooms at Flinders Street Station, aligning well with the needs of the station’s workforce, resulting in a more functional and comfortable work environment.
