La Trobe University recently underwent a major renovation project, which included the replacement of windows in several buildings. The new windows were designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce noise levels, and enhance the overall aesthetic of the campus.
Ducon used a 400 Series Capral window frame as well as flashings which were designed by us, in order to provide Comfort Plus glass, which has an exceptional UV rating.
Due to the height and access requirements needed to complete the project, Ducon had to design specific safety systems in order to maintain the safety of both building occupants and staff. This was achieved by using a harness system with internal anchor points.
Another factor which has to be carefully managed was the relocation of occupants who were still present during the works. This meant giving sufficient notice and aide to these occupants to safely move them to a temporary location whilst works were being completed.
Ducon completed the works by the practical completion date agreed on, much to the
satisfaction of the client, La Trobe University.
