Following a competitive tender process, Ducon was engaged by the City of Kingston to build a new public toilet for Victory Park foreshore and playground area.
Ducon has recently developed a strong working relationship with the City of Kingston, delivering a number of projects in their growing community.
Designed by Mark Tyquin of Tyquin Architects, the new amenities are attractive, accessible and functional.
The initial program was scheduled for 10 weeks, but due to the discovery of challenging conditions during construction, it was extended to 16 weeks. The project commenced in August of 2011 and was completed by December 2011. Prior to beginning the project, there was approximately a two and a half month wait, while the storm water, height and other design issues were resolved.
Ducon worked closely with the City of Kingston, Tyquin Architects and the Structural Engineer in order to develop cost-effective solutions to the challenges which were faced. The City of Kingston finished off the project, providing a 3D mural to one side of the external wall and with a new path and decking area.
