Whilst working in a blood donor centre certain precautions must be observed; including that the entire environment must be sterile at all times. In addition to this, it was critical that the humidity of the complex was controlled at all times.
This project was completed in only eight (8) weeks, fulfilling the construction time-line implemented, and completing the project on schedule for the client. As mentioned above, a key aspect of this project involved acknowledgement to the environment in which Ducon was working. As a result of the requirement for an always sterile environment, the construction process had to be changed. A data communications room within the complex was completed prior to the rest of the fit-out works. This ensured that the environmental integrity of the remainder of the facility was maintained. To maintain the humidity within the complex all works had to be monitored, and all contractors had to be trained to work in such environments.
Communication was kept at a maximum, to ensure the quality of the complex was effectively maintained.
The entire complex was fitted with custom joinery which has designed to a high architectural finish. All materials used were medically tested; ensuring that all finishes were of a surgery hospital grade.
