Northern Hospital Endoscopy Building Works

Ducon successfully executed the project in multiple stages to ensure seamless operations. Stage 1 focused on constructing two key Endoscopy rooms and supporting medical equipment rooms, while Stage 2 completed the Procedure & remaining areas – 19 areas in total.

A primary focus on minimal interruption to all NH stakeholders was at the forefront of the project. To ensure compliance with NH requirements, Ducon collaborated closely with the project team on critical elements, including medical gas & service’s isolation, loading in & out large / bulk materials incl. steel & wall partitions, installing hoarding to meet NH infection control standards, and contractor access.

Collaborative construction items included successful integration of upgraded nurse call structure & provision of a new comms room including data cabinets / AV and specialised medical equipment installation and commissioning.

The project consisted of a full suite of superstructure & building services activities including demolition, structural steel, construction of elements to meet seismic requirements, upgrade in building services including new mechanical AHU’s, ceiling & partitions to surgical room standards, auto doors and finishes trades.  

Ducon introduced innovative solutions by designing access and hoarding strategies tailored to a live hospital environment. This approach ensured minimal disruption to procedures and clinical operations, allowing NH services to continue seamlessly throughout the project.
