One builder. Four eras. Same hands.
Every era answered the market of its day, and each one added a capability the next one kept. Nothing was left behind, which is why a business known for live-environment delivery can still finish a building to award standard.
The family's building roots go back to Peter's grandfather. Peter Mason learned the craft of complex delivery at Kane Constructions before starting out on his own.
Ducon Constructions delivered high-end, architecturally designed work with Melbourne's leading architects, homes, clubs and campuses. HIA Small Project of the Year, 2009.
The business followed the market into occupied public assets, health, education, rail, emergency services, government and Defence. 1,000+ projects. AIB Excellence Award 2015. Triple ISO. Federal Safety Accreditation.
Both strands together: the finish of the award era and the discipline of the live-environment era, seven sectors, a new South Australian presence, and the four questions as the way in.

A note from the Managing Director
Where we go from here
I started Ducon in 2002 with a carpenter's ticket and a view that a builder should be judged on what the client ended up with, not on what the contract said they were owed.
Four eras on, the work has changed and that test has not. We spent a decade on architecturally designed homes, clubs and campuses. Then the market moved us into hospitals, schools, stations and bases, where the building has to keep running while we work on it. We did not leave the first part behind. A team that can hold a theatre list open can still finish a building to award standard, and both of those are on this page.
The next stretch is two things. South Australia, where we have a postal address at 25 Grenfell Street and a South Australian site manager being recruited now. And getting the four questions asked on every job, by every person, at every size: a $12M theatre rebuild and a broken drop bolt at a kindergarten get the same four questions. That is the part that has to scale, and it is the part I will keep putting people through.
We are not trying to be the biggest builder in the room. We are trying to be the one the facility asks back.
