Built around public service.
At the Legislative Council Chambers that meant a complex heritage lighting upgrade finished and working the moment Parliament returned from its break.
More about governmentA complex lighting upgrade, three new pendant fittings on a new rigging structure, had to be completed inside a strict six-week parliamentary break, in a heritage chamber with an inaccessible roof space and protected fittings, fixtures and finishes.
The program was timed to the parliamentary break, heritage fabric was protected while new cable runs were integrated, a complex external scaffold was engineered to reach the inaccessible roof, and specialist subcontractors were project managed across the works.
The chamber was finished, clean and working when Parliament returned, and the project led directly to ongoing heritage carpentry work at Parliament.
