Built around care.
At Frankston's CT scan room that meant building to full radiation-shielding compliance next to a waiting room that never stopped seating patients.
More about healthcareAn existing waiting area had to become a fully compliant, lead-lined CT scan room, structurally strengthened for imaging equipment loads, while the waiting room kept functioning at reduced size inside a busy hospital.
Floor and ceiling elements were structurally strengthened before fitout began, and every wall, door and window was built to the Australian Standard for radiation shielding using heavy-duty lead-lined plaster, lead-lined doors and jambs, and a radiation-resistant window.
Delivered within a five-week construction program with minimal disruption, Peninsula Health's own engineer noted “we have never had any issues at all with Ducon.”
