Built around learning.
At St Peter's that meant solving extremely difficult site access with method, not delay, to deliver a fully DDA-compliant ramp with zero effect on the early learning centre's program.
More about educationAn aged, heritage-fabric building on a constrained inner-suburban site needed a fully DDA-compliant access ramp, with site access rated extremely difficult and a live early learning centre and parish operating throughout.
A construction methodology solved the access problem before work started, combining timber, steel, blockwork and concrete to meet compliant levels within the building's constraints, built to the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and AS1428 in full.
The ramp was completed in 20 days with nil effect on program, to the satisfaction of the client, on a site used daily by young children and parishioners.
